When I hit bumps on my car it makes a funny clanky sound….What is it?
makes weird clanky sound . I just changed my breaks. I looked at it and it doesn’t seem to be anything loose but I have no clue on what it might be. Sounds like metal hitting metal. I took the tire off and looked at everything and can not figure it out.
could be way too many things to list here, many shops offer a free inspection so id find a shop in your area that will do a visual for free and see if they can narrow it down for you
rebel maybe it’s your brake dust shield that’s loose. maybe it’s your muffler.
well metal to metal is normally the brakes
Could be your struts and or strut mounts.
There are too many things it could be; it’s hard to say. One problem that sounds like yours that is easily missed is a broken exhaust bracket. This can cause the exhaust pipe to hit the frame or body when you hit a bump. Good luck.
It is way to hard to say. A common thing can be a loose or broken sway bar link, but in all reality, you need to have it diagnosed professionally.
It sounds like strut noise. There is an easy way to test for this. Push down on a front corner of you car if the car bounces more than once or twice as it rebounds back up the struts need to be replaced. You might even duplicate the clanking sound while doing this test.
Failing struts are not visible from the outside usually that’s why you see nothing wrong.
Struts/Shocks loose, Strut/Shock Mount Bushings Bad. Weak Front Coil Springs.
